Digital Citizenship is the norms of appropriate and responsible behavior with regard to technology use. It is a way to successfully prepare students and technology users for a society full of technology.
The nine elements of Digital Citizenship provide a framework to help parents and educators to define and understand issues and concerns of technology. The nine elements of digital citizenship are listed below:
1. Digital access: Full electronic participation 2. Digital Commerce: Online buying and selling of goods 3. Digital Communications: Electronic Exchange of Information 4. Digital Literacy: Process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of technology 5. Digital Etiquette: Ways of conducting oneself in a digital environment 6. Digital Law: Responsibility for actions and deeds using electronics 7. Digital Security: Electronic precautions to protect learners, staff, and organizations 8. Digital Health and Wellness: Physical and psychological well-being in a digital world 9. Digital Rights and Responsibilities: Freedom extended to those in a digital world
